Terms and Conditions of Instruction
Introduction
To protect Both parties in any Business Arrangement there needs to be some Rules.
As stated these conditions are to make it clear for Both Parties what is expected. As a professional Driving Instructor I will always endeavour to provide the best possible service to you the Pupil while applying to all the legal requirements.
I will always be courteous, polite, tidy and punctual. Behaving in a professional and ethical manner at all times. My Car will be well maintained, clean and tidy, weather permitting. The car is fitted with Dual Controls for safety. I reserves the right to use the Dual controls or take over the steering if I believe there is a safety issue involved. When the issue has been dealt with I will discuss with the Pupil why I felt the need to take control and advise the Pupil how to proceed. During the lessons I will remain calm and never shout at the Pupil. Any mild raise of my voice may be used to get the Pupils attention if there is risk. The car is fully insured for the purpose of Driving Instruction. My vehicle is a public place and therefore is Non Smoking, icluding E-Cigs.
I am legally authorised to provide driving lessons in the UK by the Driving Standards Agency (DVSA) as Government Approved Driving Instructor.
The Driving Instructor, myself, Lisa Preston, will endeavour to keep to all lessons booked but, cannot be held responsible for any inconvenience due to unforeseen circumstances.
What Do You Need
You will need to provide details of your valid Driving Licence before your first lesson. This will now be done digitally, providing me with a phot of your licence and a GOV.UK check code so I can confirm your licence details online. You must be able to read a number plate from the required distance of 20.5m with or without glasses. Remember to bring Glasses or have contact lenses in if required.
You the Pupil must act responsibly at all times. If you feel you are unable to do this for any reason, please make me aware of this even if it is something I the Instructor is doing. It is important to have feedback from the Pupil, so we can work together to make the learning experience comfortable and productive for both.
The Pupil must inform the Driving Instructor of any medical condition that may affect their ability to Drive.
Depending on where you live the drive to and from a suitable location will take some time, and this time will be within the 2 hours lesson. Please attend the lessons in suitable clothing and footwear.
In the interest of comfort in the car please restrain from using anything that will cause strong odours, such as strong perfume, aftershave etc.
If I believe that the Pupil is not suitably prepared for the lesson, the lesson will be cancelled at the Pupils expense.

Tests
Driving Tests can be booked by myself or the pupil under mutual agreement. Driving Tests take priority over other lessons. Please notify me as soon as a test is booked so that suitable notice can be given to other pupils who may have to move their lessons.
If your test is cancelled at short notice by the DVSA your lesson fee is still payable to me the Driving Instructor. Expenses can be claimed back from the DVSA.
The car will be maintained fit for purpose but, the Instructor cannot be held responsible for any refusal of the Examiner to take the car out on test.
In the interests of customer and public safety I reserve the right to withhold the use of the training car for the test if, in my opinion, your driving is actually or potentially dangerous –which if repeated on the test would result in a test failure.
