Theory Test

You will need to pass the Theory Test before a Practical Test can be booked.

Most students begin their driving lessons and study the theory alongside the lessons. 

This can help in understanding and relating the theory to practice.

The theory test consists of 2 parts:-

• 50 Multiple Choice Questions
  • you need to get at least 43 correct

 

• Hazard Perception
  • you need to score at least 44 out of 75

Be careful to always use the offical DSA site.  There are a number of middleman sites who will charge you an unnecessary premium for booking the test for you. 

The theory test should cost you a reduced price of £25 and you will be able to select the day and time you wish to attend.  Remember to print a receipt with your booking reference to take with you.

Once you have obtained your theory certificate it is valid for 2 years.
