My name is Lisa, (surprise there!) Preston

I've been an Independent DSA Approved Driving Instructor for 20 years.

My previous career was teaching IT in a commerical environment. So I had extensive tutoring experience before becoming an Instructor. Though I have to say teaching in a moving vehicle is a bit different than in front of a computer screen where the worst thing that could happen was you lost your document!

I have a son and daughter both in their late 30's who I taught to drive, teaching family is always a challenging experience!, though they did do me proud and both passed 1st time with very few Minors. 

A really exciting development is that my son Matt has decided that he would like to join me as an ADI and is currently working hard on his training.  Hopefully 2025 will become a family business.  So back to teaching family but I'm really excited to have him work alongside me.

Becoming a Driving Instructor had never really been a career plan of mine, but after teaching a friend to drive she told me that this was the job for me and sent away for information while I was on holiday.  She then proceeded to accompany me to every interview, and test.  But thanks to Soo, I successfully qualified and have loved my job ever since. Though very few of my friends or family want to drive me any more.
